February 27th - March 1st
Meet the Secretariat!

Secretary General:
Zoe Levine
Major: International Relations & Philosophy
Hometown: Verona, NJ
Favorite Place in Boston: Charles River Esplanad

Zoe Levine is a Sophomore at Tufts studying International Relations and Philosophy. She began her Model UN career in her Freshman year of high school in Verona, NJ - it's unclear why that wasn’t her first and last conference during the Zoom MUN era, but she now loves attending collegiate conferences with the Tufts Model United Nations delegation! On campus, she is also involved with Tufts Women in International Relations, and she teaches English to foreign language learners through the Hillel McGlynn Cultural Partnership (with the TUMUN DG Isabell!). She is particularly interested in public policies that utilize an intersectional approach to address the unique exigencies of women and girls, and served as a Youth Delegate to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women for two years, CSW67 and CSW68. Secondary, of course, to her passion for Model UN, Zoe enjoys hiking, yoga, Virginia Woolf, discussing metaphysics with TUMUN treasurer Jonathan Pinelli, talking to strangers in line, and overstaying her welcome at campus dining halls with friends!

Director General:
Isabell Rusitzky
Major: Child Study Human Development and Spanish
Hometown: San Francisco, CA
Favorite Place in Boston: Newberry St

Isabell Rusitzky is a sophomore studying Child Study Human Development and Spanish. Isabell was born and raised in San Francisco and began model UN freshman year in high school. Along with being the director general on the TUMUN secretariat, Isabell helps run an English class for foreign language learners through the Hillel McGlynn Cultural Partnership (with our SG Zoe!). She is also part of several casual dance groups as well as loves taking classes through the dance department (who knows, she may end up with a dance minor). Isabell also loves to get outside with tufts mountain club exploring the white mountains, going on polar plunges, and bike rides to mystic lake. She is always down for a random adventure, whether that entails finding a new boba or ice cream place or taking over her friends' kitchen to cook/bake something then watch a movie.

Director of Operations:
Colleen Cave
Major: International Relations, with Chinese minor
Hometown: White Plains, NY
Favorite Place in Boston: Seaport District

Colleen is a sophomore majoring in International Relations with a minor in Chinese. She started her MUN career in her freshman year at Tufts because she found out crisis committees would let her start cults. Outside of being Director of Operations for TUMUN, she is involved in Women in International Relations and the Rock Climbing club on campus. When she isn’t climbing fake rocks on a fake wall, she can be found taking as many history classes as her major will allow, or pretending she can dance in multiple casual dance groups on campus. Colleen also loves spending her free time crocheting, and also class time if she’s being honest, overstaying her welcome at the Carmichael Dining Hall, where she both yaps and crams essays, and rewatching the Pride and Prejudice mini series.

USG of Delegate Relations
John Murphy
Major: International Relations
Hometown: Chicago, IL

John Murphy is a sophomore from Chicago studying international relations at Tufts. He has been involved in MUN since seventh grade, and has since competed in dozens of conferences across the country. Last year, he served as the crisis director for TUMUN’s “Russians Without Borders” committee. This year, he is excited to be TUMUN’s head of delegate relations. When he is not at MUN, John works for the Tufts Daily, one of the nation’s top college newspapers, where he is co-executive of the photo section. In his free time, he enjoys photography, especially nature photography, and reading Stephen King novels. John looks forward to fostering a successful, productive, TUMUN for all delegates.

USG of Marketing:
Eva Lachavanne
Major: International Relations and Civic Studies
Hometown: Brooklyn, NY
Favorite Place in Boston: Museum of Fine Arts

Eva Lachavanne is a Sophomore at Tufts studying International Relations and Civic Studies, and was introduced to Model UN in her freshman spring semester of college, after coming back from her Civic Semester in Peru (thanks to our Chief of Staff Cameron who was coincidentally going to the interest meeting)! She’s been having a lot of fun learning new things and making meaningful friendships through the club. On campus, she is also involved with the French Department as a Learning Assistant and a member of Tufts Women in International Relations, and Tufts Amnesty. She is the biggest advocate that everyone should study abroad at least once in their lifetime, and loves catching up with friends from her time in the Tufts in Talloires program (shoutout to our President Meg)! When she’s not working on a TUMUN Instagram post, you can find her at the Crafts Center, making a scrapbook, sewing a holiday garland, embroidering clothing items, or adding to her sticker collection…

Chief of Staff:
Cameron Sasser
Major: International Relations and Economic
Hometown: Virginia Beach, VA
Favorite Place in Boston: Cafe Luna

Cameron is a Sophomore studying International Relations and Economics. Born and raised in Virginia Beach, he began participating in Model UN in 8th grade and has remained involved ever since. Outside of MUN, Cameron enjoys music production, strategy games, and Youtube shorts. Cameron is also a member of 180 Degrees Consulting and Tufts Undergraduate Law Review. He is looking forward to a decade of diplomacy at TUMUN X.

Treasurer
Jonathan Pinelli
Major: Philosophy and Quantitative Economic
Hometown: Millis, MA
Favorite Place in Boston: Modern Pastr

Jonathan Pinelli is a Sophomore studying Philosophy and Quantitative Economics because apparently one field of overthinking wasn’t enough. A long-time Model UN delegate, from Millis, MA, he has spent years perfecting the art of sounding diplomatic while wondering if anyone in the committee has read the background guide. On campus, he’s involved in Tufts Model UN and TCU Senate, dabbles in Debate Society and squash. Frequently, he can be found in Tisch Library lost in thought over whatever existential crisis his readings inspired that day. Jonathan also enjoys playing tennis and pickleball and spending time with his friends, family, and dog, Zoe (not our SG)!

USG of Crisis:
Nate Stewart
Major: International Relations and Political Science
Hometown: Richmond, VA

Nate Stewart is a Sophomore studying International Relations and Political Science with a minor in History. Originally from Richmond, Virginia, Nate began Model UN in the 7th grade. Aside from being the USG for Crisis at this year’s TUMUN, Nate is also involved in Baseball Analytics at Tufts (BAT) and has an off-campus job giving tours at Fenway Park. Over summers, Nate enjoys playing board games with friends and canvassing for his local representative. Nate looks forward to helping create a worthwhile and engaging experience for all delegates!

USG of Logistics:
Darmin Tarasewicz
Major: Undeclared
Hometown: San Diego, CA
Favorite Place in Boston: Seaport

Darmin is a freshman at Tufts University, born in NorCal before moving to San Diego during COVID. He dove headfirst into Model UN back in 6th grade and somehow never escaped, so now he’s basically a professional diplomat in training. When he’s not busy debating world peace or pretending to understand global politics, you can find him building F1-style cars on Tufts’ E-Racing team, because why just compete in a MUN circuit when you can race around F1 circuits? Oh, and if you ever catch the Tufts production of Our Town, look out for the guy behind the light board making sure everyone looks dramatically illuminated. Spoiler: that’s Darmin.

Webmaster:
Gracie Grabiel
Major: International Relations
Hometown: Avenel, NJ
Favorite Place in Boston: Boston Common

Gracie Grabiel is a Freshman at Tufts and a prospective International Relations / Political Science major. She is currently serving as Tuft’s MUN Webmaster. Her high school, outside of the small town of Avenel, NJ, didn’t have a Model UN, so this is the beginning of her MUN career! When she’s not in JCC meetings or at Mugar 200, you can find her doing an assortment of activities around campus. Catch her on the football field cheering on the Jumbos with Tufts Club Cheer, or at the First Resource Center coordinating events for the First Gen Collective, or promoting civic engagement with ACTION. In her free time, Gracie loves listening to all kinds of music, practicing Spanish, getting smoothies from Kindlevan, and “studying pop culture” (doomscrolling).
